The NCR S28 Server offers exceptional manageability, serviceability, performance, storage and I/O capabilities, and is convertible to 5U rackmount server.

The NCR S28 server is NCR's Advanced Workgroup Server with exceptional manageability, serviceability, performance, storage and I/O capabilities. The NCR S28 server is a deskside server that can easily be converted to a 5U rackmount server.

NCR S28's Server's Performance and Expandability

The NCR S28 server offers a level of performance and expandability that competes with the larger departmental servers. Similar to the NCR S27, the NCR S28 server offers support for dual Pentium III® Processors, 133-MHz front size bus, enhanced memory bandwidth, and 64-bit I/O bus. The NCR S28, however, has a total of 12 storage bays. Such storage capacity, which includes six hot plug disk drive bays, and a suite of advanced server management features, that not only rivals many larger departmental servers, but fits the need of those retail and financial businesses with extensive storage needs but not the extensive departmental server budget.

NCR S28 Server Specifications

For enhanced data availability, the NCR S28 server supports the latest generation RAID controller, the AMI 493, which can be added as an option and employs the latest 64-bit 66MHz PCI Ultra160 SCSI RAID technology. Using the U160 Disk Drives (9GB, 18GB, 36GB) in conjunction with the AMI 493, provides your customer with extraordinary internal RAID capacity.

Complementing the wealth of server features and server management features is a tool-free innovative chassis that provides easy access to major system components, speeding upgrade and reducing downtime.

The NCR S28 server is positioned at the high-end of the Entry Level family structure and is NCR's Advanced Workgroup Server.
