NCR 6401 Robotic Tape Libraries

The NCR 6400 and the NCR 6401 Robotic Tape Libraries were developed jointly with Storage Technology Corporation, an integral part of NCR's Scalable Data Warehouse and High Availability Transaction Processing Solutions. Both the 6400/6401 offer high availability, flexibility and performance in a fully automated, low-cost tape cartridge storage and retrieval subsystem.

The NCR 6401 is a cost effective automated tape storage solution for small data warehousing or high availability transaction processing environments. The NCR 6401 brings mainframe-class tape automation to departments and work groups. The NCR 6401 supports DLT drive technology.

Both the NCR 6400 and NCR 6401 libraries support DLT 4000 and are upgradeable to the DLT 7000 technology.
